HI Jackie, Thanks for your nice comments. I really like this painting. Windows are always so interesting ,never knowing what lies behind them. Nice work.

This painting boasts perfection of composition, skill in rendering and lends to much philosophical pondering of symbol and meaning. In my opinion by far the best yet posted on this site. Congratulations Jackie Mueller-Jones. $500 was a bargin! (Lame that this site only allows 500 characters to comment!)

The white brick is missing parts and bending away from the building giving rise to a fleeing foundation. The cracks of the windows are inviting to live organic creatures yet signify a danger of being chopped off at any moment because that window could fall and slice. How daring of nature to invade a decrepit old structure of humanity, yet nature is always fearless and bold to just explore, be alive, and give life without care for itself because nature's nature is abundant.

Fantastic piece! I love how the window is off set to the left just slightly, the cap of the window frame across the top, how the line of the wood draws my eye toward the bottom, how the liveliness of the vine springs to the contrast of the crumbling man made structure, the dark under lay of the bottom left an how is dives back into a scary decay of humanity where a lone white spot looks back at me which could be anything smacking of sinister undertones.

Please visit THE FOUR SISTERS website at: http://thefoursisters.net/ Born and educated in the U.S., I consider my style of painting as an "evolution" resulting from many courses and workshops given by various instructors. One of seven siblings (all skilled in the arts), painting, drawing, and music have never been choices, they were just part of everyday life. Along with this readily available family source of artistic information, the late Montreal watercolourist, Helmut Gerth, was a major contributor to my artistic "adventure". With no formal art training, and several years of "trial-and-error" oil painting, pastel attempts and not painting at all - and - having finally settled on the watercolour medium as my favorite form of...
